With the economy in free fall, everyone is looking to blame, and there are a whole host of possible contenders. There is the government, the banks, credit card companies, people themselves, and of course pundits.
That last group of people are the ones currently being picked on by Jon Stewart. On The Daily Show, Stewart has called into question how sensible it is to listen to pundits, especially those on CNBC, and especially Jim Cramer on Mad Money.
This video details the row, with clips of Jon Stewart berating some of Cramer’s tips and Cramer then responding. The thing to remember though is that pundits are only human and are obviously as capable as the rest of us of making mistakes.
Cramer eventually appeared as a guest on The Daily Show but the interview is hard to come by due to Viacom wanting to keep control of it. Stewart did go for Cramer (in a verbal sense) but it all ended with a pleasant handshake.
Let that be the end of it.
