I firmly believe some people are born with a passion and talent already instilled in them. How else do you explain child prodigies who excel from a very young age in their chosen field?
This video should be used as evidence for this. It features 5-year-old Jonah drumming along to System Of A Down’s Toxicity, one of the hardest-rocking songs I’ve ever willingly listened to. And he does a great job.
What’s great is that Jonah doesn’t just copy what he hears. Instead, he’s interpreting a song in his own unique style. Which I would argue suggests this is raw talent rather than a simple case of mimicking.
Jonah has his own Web site named Jonah Rocks, and he does indeed rock. If this kid isn’t a drummer in a band when he’s older then there’s something seriously messed up with the world.
