Jordyn Wieber Eliminated From London 2012 | U.S. Gymnast Out Of All-Around Final

Another day at the London 2012 Olympics, another shocker.

Today’s surprising news is the elimination of Jordyn Wieber from the all-around women’s gymnastics final. With just two U.S. competitors going through, Wiber was knocked out by her teammates Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas.

Wieber is the reigning world champion and so was considered a hot favorite for the event. She’ll still be competing in the team finals but now has no chance of winning the individual event.

I suspect we’ll see bigger shocks from here on in. The truth is that no matter how much prepared each athlete is, whether they win or lose, or succeed or fail, comes down to a whole slew of different factors.
