There’s probably very few people in the world (at least those with televisions) who haven’t heard of Susan Boyle, the runner-up on Britain’s Got Talent 2009. Has America’s Got Talent now produces their own Susan Boyle?
Erm, I’d have to say no to that. This one shouts too much.
The lady in question is Kari Callin, a lady born with a cleft palate which once operated on left a scar on her face. But she thinks she can sing, and turns up to the America’s Got Talent auditions hoping to prove this to herself and others.
And you know what – she can sing, quite well. The problem is that whatever beautiful voice she does have, she drowns it out by shouting the words to the song. While a good set of lungs isn’t a bad thing, the microphone kind of does a good enough job.
Callin has been compared to Susan Boyle because she’s an unassuming lady who isn’t blessed in the looks department but whose voice blows first impressions out of the water. Now if only she’d stop shouting then maybe these comparisons would be justified.
