What a difference a year makes. Last year Karl Stefanovic was stumbling drunkenly through his post-Logies episode of the Today show. This year he’s holding the top gong.

I must admit, I’ve never thought much of Karl but he won me over with this speech. It was genuine and seemingly unrehearsed, genuinely the nicest moment of Australian television’s night of nights.
And despite warning us that he’d be heading to the bar, Karl even managed to put together a seamless performance on this morning’s Today show. Now that’s what I call a pro!
