Or at least that’s what everyone is saying. But is this performance really as good as Susan Boyle’s first on Britain’s Got Talent? It’s equally unexpected but in terms of quality it’s nowhere near as good. Susan Boyle FTW!
Kevin Skinner walked on stage as a former chicken catcher with a deep south accent. Not the most auspicious start, although there was really no need for Sharon Osbourne to laugh in his face just because he didn’t sound like her.
He then proceeds to sing If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks, and does an incredible job. If I’m honest it’s not my cup of tea but I’m sure fans of country music know what they’re talking about when they’re giving this guy plaudits.
Kevin Skinner is a great singer but this isn’t a Susan Boyle moment. I don’t think that will ever be repeated, there was just something about her unassuming nature hiding the voice of an angel. Skinner’s look instead hides the voice of Garth Brooks.
