When the going’s tough the tough get going, they say. This is a perfect example of the bonds of sportsmanship and comradarie as Kevin’s teammates demolish the other team after their teammate takes a heart-stopping fall.
As the coach Rick Pitino tries to swallow down his morning’s Easter breakfast after witnessing his player snap his leg to reveal a juicy bone right before his very eyes, Kevin has the strength and passion enough to say, “Just win the game. Just win the game,” until his teammates have no other choice but to respect his wishes when the ambulance takes him away and kills the Duke 85-63.
For in the end, nothing could stop the Louisville Cardinals, especially not the stomach turning sight of one of their own, in shock on the floor with a mutilated leg that nearly no one could bear to look at. And it was “nothing like I’ve ever witnessed before in my life from a basketball game,” so says coach Pitino.
As Kevin lied in a hospital bed probably dreaming of the game going on without him, his teammates held up a No. 5 uniform and the crowd all cheered, “Ke-vin! Ke-vin!”
What a better way to celebrate a passionate holiday then with some fierce competitive basketball showing brotherhood at its finest!
