Despite poor reviews from The New York Times and Rolling Stone, Twilight is currently the number one movie in the United States. But the movie’s luck might turn sour because of bad publicity. Recently, it’s lead star Kristen Stewart was recently caught smoking pot (pictures below).
Could this be the reason for her nervous appearance on Letterman? The answer lies in this interview.
As you can see by this Twilight interview, Kristen’s behavior is relatively the same. My guess is that she’s just a shy teenage girl who occasionally smokes pot- something not too uncommon in America. Since Kristen doesn’t have a ‘bad girl’ image, this incident has a good chance of making a dent in the Twilight sequel.
New Moon is already set for a 2010 release and filming will take place in March of 2009. Due to the film’s target audience (young teen girls), it’s likely that some parents won’t approve of Kristen’s role. If you ask me, director Catherine Hardwick doesn’t care and will probably ignore the negative response.
After all, two of her previous movies (Lords of Dogtown and Thirteen) showed teens smoking weed.
