You may recognize this song (I didn’t, because I don’t listen to country very often) but this version is brand new, with Kristin Chenoweth covering the Carrie Underwood hit Lessons Learned. And it’s pretty damn good.
Kristin Chenoweth is best known as a theater and television actress, having won a Tony for her performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, starring in Wicked on Broadway, and being in Glee, Pushing Daisies, and The West Wing, amongst others.
However, she is now releasing a country album packed full of songs which sum her up. And this is the first track from Some Lessons Learned, due for release in the U.S. on September 13.
Country isn’t my preferred genre, but even I like this. You can tell Kristin Chenoweth is a stage actress by the way she throws herself into this performance with heart and soul. And her enthusiasm shines through.
