Here’s an idea. Take The Biggest Loser, an established show which pits overweight couples against each other in a race to lose weight. Then change it so the couples are getting married. Oh wow.
I’m being sarcastic, obviously. But that is exactly what the concept behind Shedding For The Wedding is. And it’s painted as if it’s some kind of brilliant, highly-original idea.
These couples are all, well fat, and keen to lose weight before they get married. The prize for being the couple who lose the most weight is a dream wedding; their dream wedding.
It’s not surprising no one bothered watching this. Lame idea, lame show. And why is losing weight regarded as the be all and end all anyway? Sure, it’s a good undertaking, but it shouldn’t dominate your life.
