It’s been nearly a month since Microsoft’s debuted their big “I’m a PC” ad which served as a slap in the face to all previous Mac ads. You’d think that after an expensive commercial like that Apple would try to compete on the same financial level.
But no, this latest advert uses the same ol’ formula- and it works.
You won’t find any fancy celebrities in this ad, but isn’t that the point? As an owner of both a Mac and a PC who finds each useful, it always amazes me how far these rival companies will go to make a mountain out of a molehill. For once, I commend Apple for not changing their advertising strategy.
But who’s to say Microsoft won’t stop playing Mr. Nice Guy and use their budget for some ugly damage? No doubt, if the same formula for those low blow PC-bashing ads were used by Microsoft, Apple wouldn’t stand a chance.
In this advertising war, I think we all know who has the biggest guns.
