Let It Be Heard is a documentary web series like no other. Then again, the camp that it takes place at is like no other. The Collective Sound (TCS) Summer Music Academy is the world’s first ever touring music academy that aims to help 12-18 year olds from all around the world feel like rockstars.
Even if it’s only for 3 weeks.
No this series isn’t about the trials and tribulations of some fake band, it’s about real young aspiring rockstars; minus the paparazzi and crazed fans of course. 50 young artists from around the world collaborate with new-found peers to form a band, record a song, shoot a music video, and headline for local bands.
So why was a camp like this created? Surely, there must be some reason behind this non-profit organization attitude. 30 year-old camp creator Zac Smith puts it simply, “Kids need a place to learn from and collaborate with their peers.”
This is the official trailer for Let It Be Heard: The Story of The Collective Sound. Since April 7th, a new episode has aired daily onTCS’s website. This trend will continue until all 18 episodes are released via YouTube, MySpace, Google, Blip.tv, and Veoh.com.
