The Lifetime network loves inserting words like “one woman,” “shocking,” and “based on a true story” in just about every one of their movie previews. Their latest movie ‘Amish Grace’ is no exception, except this time it’s causing quite a stir among critics.
In fact, even the writers of the book that the movie was based on declined to be involved with the project.
Critics that don’t like the film (which aired on Lifetime at 8pm today), argue that it was the Amish community and not the actual family that wanted to forgive the shooter. Since I haven’t read the book and don’t know what really happened, I can’t comment on how accurate the plot was.
On a side note, can anyone count the exact number of drum crash sounds used in this trailer? It’s pretty excessive. If you close your eyes and listen, it almost sounds like a parody.
