Now that Star Wars is part of Disney, the iconic characters from the movies are present at Disneyland. But not every child will choose to fight the forces of evil.
Children from the crowd are chosen at random to join the Jedi Academy. But a young girl called Sariah Gallego decides that’s no fun. She decides to come over to “the dark side” instead.
This video shows her being presented to Darth Vader, who she promptly bows down to in order to serve. This wasn’t in the script, but the actors do a good job of improvising a way out of the situation.
I love this, because it proves that kids will choose their own path in life. Sariah probably won’t grow up to be evil, but for now that’s the side of the conflict in Star Wars that she wants to be on. And good luck to her. Even though they lose in the end.
