Lolo Jones is in the news after finishing fourth in the 100m Hurdles Final at the London 2012 Olympics. This video offers an insight into her back-story.
Jones will return home to the U.S. without a medal, this despite her being one of the poster girls of the team. A couple of days before she raced The New York Times ran a piece criticizing her for off-the-track endorsements.
The fact is athletes have to take the money offered by endorsements in order to make a living. In the U.K. it was Jessica Ennis who did the same, but thankfully she won gold to remind everybody why she was so in demand.
It seems there has been a switch, with the American media now doing what the British media were once famous for: building people up only to cut them down at the peak of their fame.
