I know New Year has been and gone, but the fireworks display which lit up the London skyline is worth watching again. Because it is, quite frankly, the best fireworks display I have ever seen.
I noted yesterday how New York’s New Year celebrations have become dull and predictable, especially as the whole thing is sponsored by companies eager to get their names on the air around the world.
This is the antidote to New York’s lackluster affair, and it makes me proud to be British that we now have one of the most impressive set-ups for New Year’s Eve.
The only problem is how much it all costs. At a time when the government is making cuts left, right, and center, it’s a little galling to see million of pounds spent on 10 minutes of pretty explosions.
Wow, I’m a miserable git, always looking at the down side.
