Magnavox Odyssey Games Console Video | TV Advert For First Home Computer Games

Wow, this video takes me back a bit. Kids don’t know how lucky they are these days to have the choice of a PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii to play games on at home.

All the current generation of games consoles offer you high resolution, real looking graphics, story lines, plots, innovative control methods, and rumble functions.

This console, regarded as the first home computer gaming system, was called the Magnavox Odyssey, and all you really did was move a square light around the screen… hmm.

As much as we can laugh at the technology now, looking back, at the time it was seen as state of the art, and made kids ogle at the screen in wonder. How times (and adverts) have changed.
