Manchester United’s final home game of the season was abandoned before it even kicked off after a “bomb” was found in one of the toilet blocks.
This video shows fans’ reactions to the bomb scare, and subsequent evacuation, as they left the stadium not quite sure what was happening.
A fan spotted what he thought was a bomb attached to a pipe in a toilet. He contacted the authorities, the fans were evacuated from Old Trafford, and the bomb squad conducted a controlled explosion
It has since come to light that the device was a dummy bomb used in a training exercise conducted the week before the game. But the authorities still did the right thing, as it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
