Last year we saw the folks at Australia’s Aroma Festival in Sydney recreating the Mona Lisa. This year they were at it again, making another more contemporary piece of art: the likeness of Marilyn Monroe.
It took 5200 cups of latte, long black, and flat white to achieve this extraordinary piece. I loved the Mona Lisa, but I think this year’s work may be even better.
Now before you whine about the waste associated with such an endeavor, it’s important to note that all milk was on its use by date, and where possible the coffee was too.
Each cup also contained a seed card, which was given to locals watching the dismantling of the piece. Just think how many trees will be planted thanks to all those cups of coffee!
