With his deep resonant voice and winning smile, Canadian Idol’s Matt Rapley always had the potential for greatness.
Yet throughout the reality talent quest, something seemed to be missing. While Matt always sang well, he seemed uncertain of himself, and scared to take risks.
However, this early shakiness was all but forgotten this week when he delivered a stirring rendition of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post.” The performance was intense from start to finish, and deservedly earned the soulster a standing ovation.
Now that he seems to have shaken his nerves, the sky’s the limit for this softly-spoken teen from Saskatchewan.
