This video shows Melody Gardot singing Baby, I’m A Fool live on The Paul O’Grady Show. Not only has this girl got a beautiful voice, there is more to her than meets the eye, with how she became a singer being an incredible story.
Melody Gardot has a voice that could stop wars, but it was only when she experienced tragedy that she came to discover, nurture, and unleash it on the world.
When she was 19 and at college, she was run over by a jeep running a red light while she was riding her bike. She damaged her body and her suffered a serious brain injury that doctors didn’t think she’d ever recover from.
But she has, after turning to music as a kind of therapy. Six years on and, though she still walks with a stick and has to wear dark glasses for photo-sensitivity, she is a world-renowned jazz singer preparing to play her first concert in Seoul in March.
A truly remarkable story to match a truly remarkable voice.
