Jason Calacanis is the founder of Weblogs, Inc. and Mahalo who is also an A-list blogger and speaker on technology. He’s never been afraid to speak his mind, even if his views risking upsetting people.
Here, he gives his view on Apple fanboys and fangirls, of which there are a lot. He effectively blames them for encouraging Apple to become the thing they once fought against – the powerful tech giant which controls everything with an iron fist.
The big problem, as Calacanis sees it, is the way Apple keeps all their systems and software closed. Users of the iPhone, for instance, have to use the OS, the browser, and the apps Apple says it can.
What happened to choice? What happened to open source? Unfortunately, Apple has moved into Microsoft territory and has its fingers in every pie (product it manufactures). Seriously, Apple fanboys and fangirls, stop being so loyal and start seeing the bigger picture.
