MIA – ‘Born Free’ Music Video | Romain Gavras Directed Video Banned From YouTube

This is M.I.A.’s new music video for Born Free. And it’s a video that has already caused controversy, having been pulled off YouTube for its portrayal of graphic violence. Oh, and there’s some brief nudity involved as well.

I fully expect this video to be pulled from YouTube, but you can watch the full, uncensored version at MiaUK.com. And you should do so to see what all the fuss is about, as long as you’re not of a sensitive persuasion.

The fact is that while this video is violent, it’s also truthful, and it has an underlying message that cannot and should not be ignored.

Replace the ginger-haired people from the video with Muslims and the whole thing feels a lot more real. Violence of this nature does happen, and is often carried out by the State and the people who do its bidding, such as the police and the military.

I actually think the song sucks ass, but it’s the video that is attracting all the attention. And rightly so.
