Michael Clarke Duncan, the Hollywood actor best known for his startling performance in The Green Mile, has passed away at the tender age of just 54. Duncan died after failing to fully recover from a heart attack he suffered in July.
He was absolutely brilliant in The Green Mile. I had already read the book by the time I saw the film, and his portrayal of John Coffey was just about perfect to how I imagined it to be.
He then went on to star in a host of other films, showing a surprising adaptability that saw him appear in Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, Daredevil, and Sin City, amongst many others.
Rest In Peace, Michael Clarke Duncan – 1957-2012.
