I guess we should no longer be surprised at seeing a politician behaving badly, but witnessing Michael Grimm, a Republican Congressman, threatening a reporter is still shocking.
The incident occurred after Barack Obama had delivered the State of the Union address. NY1 cable TV reporter Michael Scotto asked Grimm a series of questions and then tried to move the conversation on to an investigation into his campaign financing.
This didn’t go down well at all, and Grimm ended the interview. Then, clearly believing that the cameras had stopped rolling, proceeded to threaten Scotto with physical violence.
Grimm has since apologized, but that doesn’t excuse his behavior.
