Michael Jackson’s death continues to affect his fans in a big way. And the latest twist to the story isn’t going to help them come to terms with the loss. AEG Live has released video of Michael Jackson’s final rehearsal before he died last week.
The video shows Jackson rehearsing a dance routine for his forthcoming This Is It tour, a tour that will now unfortunately never take place, even though 50 dates at the London O2 Arena had already sold out.
The short video showing Jackson rehearsing is haunting to watch in light of what happened just a few hours after it was shot. It doesn’t help that Jacko looks thin, gaunt, and almost ghostlike through the whole thing.
Interestingly, Jackson did actually sing a bit of They Don’t Care About Us, even though most commentators had assumed he’d be miming for the gigs. The dance routine is well-choreographed but less energetic than we’re used to seeing.
It’s horrible to think that just two days after this video was filmed, Jackson died after suffering cardiac arrest. But that’s the sad fact that we’re all going to have to come to terms with before too long.
