The most exciting part of this year’s American Idol competition is the high standard of all the contestants. In previous years a handful of singers consistently gave the best performers, but this time around someone new always steps up to the plate.
This week the man to watch was Michael Johns.
I’ve always liked this affable Aussie, but after the auditions he failed to wow me. This week he was back to his best with a cover of the Dolly Parton song It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right.
This soulful ballad was the ideal match for Michael husky blues voice, and the pared back arrangement suited the song perfectly.
Will it be enough to keep him in the competition? If it’s not there’s no justice.
