There’s something special about Canadian Idol’s Mookie Morris. Every week I’m not quite sure what he’s going to perform. Then I hear the song choice, and it couldn’t be more perfect.
It happened again this week when Mookie went back into the vault for the Canadian rock theme and pulled out Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride.”
This kid rocks, pure and simple. He’s taken this old classic and given it such a contemporary vibe. He knows who he is, and he just gets out there and performs his butt off week after week. He manages to be consistent, but never boring.
Mookie Morris: I salute you.
