CES 2011 is packed full with new tablets, all of which are being launched soon to compete with the iPad and upcoming iPad 2 from Apple.
This is the Motorola Xoom, one that is being touted as a true contender, mainly thanks to its use of Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). The Xoom is the first Android tablet to come with 3.0.
Apple has the tablet market pretty much sewn up at this point, with the only other product to have sold well being the Samsung Galaxy Tab. But this could, and hopefully will, change over the course of the next year or so. That is, assuming the iPad 2 sucks.
The Xoom looks very promising, but the prototype on display at CES 2011 isn’t a full working model. And until it’s actually released we won’t know for sure. And the price has also yet to be determined. Which could be a deal-breaker.
