Ginger Baker, the innovative-but-volatile drummer for Cream and several other bands, has passed away at the age of 80.
Baker’s family haven’t released details of his death, but we know that he was critically ill in hospital for some time prior to his passing.
Baker will be remembered mainly as the drummer for Cream, which he co-founded with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce. Cream were one of the first supergroups, and helped move rock music in a new direction.
After Cream, Baker drummed for other bands, including Blind Faith and Air Force. Despite his death, Ginger Baker will be remembered as one of the best drummers the world has ever seen.
