Since MTV was created, it has been known for pushing the FCC’s boundaries on TV more than most other channels would dare.
BET may have a ton of booty shaking, and Adult Swim on Cartoon Network may air the word “nigga,” but I doubt any of those networks would try to air someone actually smoking weed on live TV.
For those that didn’t know, the MTV Movie Awards were aired live yesterday. When James Franco and Seth Rogan went out to present an award, they pulled a weed joke that was more awkward than funny.
Although I admit the reaction from the rumored couple Rihanna and Chris Brown was pretty funny, I’m personally not comfortable with anyone smoking weed (even if it is fake) on TV. Way to set yet another bad example MTV.
But we all have to commend the network for doing it’s best to stop the fiasco: pulling the camera back.
