Dan Harmon is taking flak after some right-wing trolls uncovered an old sketch he wrote and starred in that is, it’s fair to say, pretty risque.
In a sketch called Daryl, Harmon basically rapes a baby doll. This has offended some people, who are calling on Adult Swim to cancel Rick and Morty as a result.
The thing is, context is important. In this video, YouTuber Mundane Matt adds that necessary context, and explains why this is much ado about nothing.
Daryl was a parody of Dexter, except that Daryl doesn’t kill people, he rapes babies. It was all about shock value, and it seems to have worked.
