Muse – ‘Survival’ Audio Music Video | Official London 2012 Theme From The 2nd Law

This is Survival by Muse, at least in audio form. The full music video will likely be released in the next few weeks.

As someone who is going to see Muse live later this year I’m very interested to see what the new album The 2nd Law sounds like. Survival is the first song from that album.

It’s also the official theme song of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Hence the lyrics about winning a race, although Muse have clearly drawn an analogy between athletics and life (the rat race).

It took me a few listens to really like this song, and I still think lead singer Matt Bellamy sounds a little weird in it at times. Still, Survival is epic, it’s Queen-like, and it’s very fitting for the Olympics.
