How would you react if you saw a Muslim woman being mistreated in a store, not being served purely for the color of her skin, what she’s wearing, and what religion she follows?
That’s the question ABC Primetime wanted to investigates so it set up a little experiment. The results are interesting to watch as they show that while some Americans are prejudiced, most aren’t.
The final score (if that’s the appropriate term) was 13-6. 13 people decided to stand up for the lady and either speak up or walk out of the shop. But 6 actively backed the shop assistant for not serving her because of what she represented.
The six, and anyone else who would act like that, should be ashamed of themselves. Do they not realize that America is a country built on immigrants, and also founded as a secular society? Meaning everyone living there should be treated the same, regardless of race or religion.
