Nelly has been arrested for alleged rape. TMZ reports that the rapper’s victim met him at a club over the weekend in Washington state. The victim, a 21-year-old from Seattle, states that she met the artist on Friday night and rode on his tour bus.
She claims that Nelly offered her money after he forced her to have sex with him without a condom. The alleged victim states that she said “no,” but Nelly forced himself on her. She states that she was invited to an after-party with Nelly.
She claims that a woman threw her off of the tour bus, threw $100 at her and told her “you gotta go.”
Nelly’s lawyer states, “It does not surprise me that she wanted to have her story publicized. That is playbook 101 of a person with an agenda and clearly she has one. The agenda is money, fame and notoriety.”
He states that he will have objective evidence proving that the accuser has zero credibility.
Nelly has been vocal following his release, he didn’t have to post bail because he has not been charged with a crime. The rapper has discussed the matter openly on Twitter, stating, “Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation. I am completely innocent. I am confident that once that facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.”
He continues, “I do want to apologize to my loved ones for the embarrassment and for putting myself in a situation where I could be victimized by this false and defaming allegation.”
The 42-year-old was arrested on Saturday and was released the same morning. His lawyers claim that the allegations against the rapper are “false.” Auburn Police Department states that “at 3:48 a.m. a female called 911 to report that she was sexually assaulted by a male, who is known as the rapper ‘Nelly’.”
