A new photograph has come to light alleged to show missing aviator Amelia Earhart, her navigator Fred Noonan, and the wreckage of her plane.
The photo was taken on the Marshall Islands in the 1930s, which has fueled speculation that Earhart was taken prisoner by the Japanese at that time.
Suffice to say the evidence is very thin to the point it’s almost non-existent. This could be Earhart, but it could just as easily be someone else entirely.
This looks like a classic case of finding a tiny shred of evidence and talking it up in order to build interest for a documentary. And, lo and behold, NBC is showing one this weekend.
