I’ve seen pretty much all of the Bond films over the years, but I must admit I find all of those pre-Pierce Brosnan very dated now. Give me anything from Goldeneye onwards and I’m happy, otherwise I cannot be bothered.
All Bond films are reliant on special effects and cutting-edge technology, but that means they don’t age well. Unlike the actors who play Bond, who seem to age very well, bizarrely.
Which means I’m unlikely to buy Bond 50, the new Blu-ray boxset containing all the films to date. As the name suggests ‘Bond 50’ is being released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the franchise.
