Google has previously tried to make its mark on the television industry with Google TV, but that failed to take the world by storm. Today it revealed its new attempt to get a foothold, with Chromecast.
Chromecast is a small Wi-Fi dongle that plugs into the back of your television via an HDMI port. It then communicates with your Wi-Fi router, allowing you to stream movies, television shows, and music from your other Internet-connected devices.
Essentially this means you can stream content from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop and watch it on your television set. And all in a very simple way.
The biggest news about Chromecast is the low price, as it costs just $35 to buy. This is so cheap that the device has already sold out on Google Play.
