This video shows the first television commercial for Microsoft Surface, a new tablet running Windows 8. The device looks surprisingly good, and so does the ad.
Surface is Microsoft’s effort to join the tablet party. The RT version will be released alongside Windows 8 later this month, with a Pro version being released at the beginning of 2013.
Microsoft has made some notoriously crappy adverts for its products over the years. Ones that completely failed to hit the spot, especially when compared to Apple’s genius marketing.
However, this Microsoft Surface commercial really works, being visually interesting and highly memorable. It manages to show off the product while not getting bogged down with the specifics.
