As expected, seeing as it leaked the night before, Microsoft yesterday unveiled the new Xbox 360. This isn’t a next generation console, but merely the existing Xbox hardware given a makeover.
Microsoft chose its E3 2010 keynote to show off the new Xbox 360. And it’s clearly been in production for a while as it goes on sale in the U.S. this week.
Anyone present at Microsoft E3 press conference didn’t have to wait at all, with every member of the audience given one of the new slimline consoles just for turning up.
The new Xbox 360 is smaller and slimmer than the old one, has a 250GB hard drive, and a lot more outputs.
One of the built-in outputs is for the new Kinect motion-sensing hardware, which turns you and your body into the controller. Which I think could make the Wii look positively prehistoric.
