It’s 2011, in case you hadn’t noticed. I assume you’ve all recovered from the fun and frivolity from last night, with hangovers banished and new year resolutions having kicked in.
So now is a good time to look back at the celebrations from New Year’s Eve, and in particular the ball drop from Times Square in New York.
I know it’s traditional, but I have to admit to being very underwhelmed by this. New York’s used to be the New Year event to watch, but other countries are now outdoing them in a big way.
I think London, Sydney, and Hong Kong deserve the biggest accolades this time around, and I think New York needs to up its game. It seemed to be just kissing and branded sponsorship deals. Neither of which are particularly tasteful.
