I know that people are respecting the police less and less these days. And videos of police brutality really don’t help that situation. However, is that what this is? Or could the woman have avoided the situation completely?
The video shows what happened from the dashboard camera on the police officer’s car. A woman is pulled over on suspicion of speeding and using her mobile phone while driving. Both of which are serious offenses, particularly with children in the vehicle.
While the officer checks her credentials, the woman gets out of the vehicle without being asked to. The officer correctly asks her to get back in the car and she refuses. He then tasers and arrests her.
Did he go too far? Probably. But the woman caused the incident by ignoring the police officer’s orders. So it’s her fault really. But that isn’t stopping her from suing the county sheriff’s office. Because this is America and lawsuits are ten a penny.
