YouTube has a new layout, and it’s a radical departure from the old one. As usual the people who can’t abide change are coming out to moan in huge numbers. Will YouTube listen to them? Or like Facebook will it ignore all pleas.
The new YouTube design turns the site into more of a social network, and also promotes professional content over the UGC which made the site what it is today. And that hasn’t gone down too well.
I wrote about the new YouTube design on WebTVWire yesterday, and noted that the complaints were already trickling in. That trickle has now become a tsunami, with hundreds of people expressing their displeasure with the changes.
This video won’t be helping matters. It has the usual smiley-sounding female talking the changes up as if she’s assuming everyone is going to love the changes. Why wouldn’t they? I have no idea, but they clearly don’t.
