Nike’s Amazing Animated World Cup Advert Video | Ronaldo & Rooney Battle Clones

In case you haven’t noticed the 2014 FIFA World Cup is almost upon us. The first match kicks off on June 12, with the final happening a month later on July 13.

All of the big sportswear companies are releasing their adverts for the World Cup, and this video shows what Nike came up with. It’s a strange concept, but also highly entertaining.

Essentially it pitches boring, predictable football against exciting, unexpected football. The best footballers on the planet have that unpredictability, while the also-rans are just clones.

There are now calls for a feature-length movie made in the same style as this ad, and that could actually work. Rooney and Ronaldo make good animated movie stars.
