The Nintendo DS has been an absolutely phenomenal success over the last few years. It has sold 100 million units, making it doubly as popular as the Wii, although the latter system seems to grab all the headlines.
Nintendo isn’t one to rest on its laurels, always trying to innovate and push new hardware on an unsuspecting public. Which is why the Nintendo DSi was developed. Already out in Japan, it’s getting an April 5 release in the States.
This video shows a hands-on review of the system, pointing out the new features the DSi sports over the original DS. Unfortunately, to make room for the new, some of the old has gone, including backwards compatibility for Gameboy Advance games.
I won’t be buying a DSi and I can’t see why anyone else would either. The cameras, WiFi access, and sound apps all look pointless, and I’d personally rather have BC. Is it possible that Nintendo could have its first fail on its hand?
