Obama ‘I Pledge’ Video | Controversy Over Celebrities Pledging To Serve U.S. President

34 sec read

This is the now infamous ‘I Pledge’ video which has caused controversy around the United States. The reason? Because it’s being shown in schools and some right wing pundits think it’s indoctrinating the kids.

The ‘I Pledge’ video is basically a bunch of celebrities pledging to make the United States a better place – helping people out, being friendlier, booting out racism, etc etc – and this is bad how?

I understand that a portion of the U.S. didn’t vote for Obama and would never vote Democrat. But like it or not it’s Obama and the Democrats who are in power for at least the next four years.

If I had kids I’d much rather they were being taught to respect people and help create a nicer society for all to live in than religious intolerance, racial disharmony, and how warmongering is a good thing. Which, as far as I can see, is what the Bush administration preached.
