Barack Obama has been hawking himself around the television networks lately in an effort to connect with the American people and persuade them to back his push for change, a change that the U.S. so desperately needs.
On Monday, Sept. 21, he appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, becoming the first sitting President to appear on the show. Obama was, as usual, on form, providing a serious message with the style and humor he’s naturally gifted with.
Obama covered a wide range of topics, including the war in Afghanistan, the one most people feel was necessary unlike the Iraq one which most people felt and still feel is a complete waste of time and money.
But the best moment of the show came when Letterman broached the subject of racism. Obama defended the American people by replying, “I think it’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election.” A very good point, Mr. President.
