Today, in 1915, for those of you that don’t know, the Armenian Genocide began which killed over 1 million people. Now, in 2012, the Turkish government has yet to include the date in their history books.
This is a video, back from 2009 where Obama, Serj (from System Of A Down) and Tom (from Rage Against The Machine) bring up the importance of the day.
I find it disturbing when the Bush Administration doesn’t acknowledge a massacre for lobbyist reasons, yet celebrities like Kim Kardashian have no problem tweeting things like:
“Today lets all stand together & remember the 1.5 million people who were massacred in the Armenian Genocide. April 24th, 1915 #neverforget”
