There are very few reasons I’d like to be American. I’m happy being British, thank you. But the one thing I always wanted at school was a yearbook, which we don’t do in the UK, but do in the United States.
And if I’d been afforded the luxury of a high school yearbook then I’d have loved this one, which is causing controversy in Ohio by containing an F-bomb on the front cover. What a disaster!
When designing the cover, a senior art student decided to have a little fun and insert a hidden message containing the F word. No, not falafel, but fuck. Which is naughty yet ingenious, and certainly not worth anyone getting their knickers in a twist over.
Some of these parents seem overtly outraged over a word, a word that only appears if you’re looking for it and turn the yearbook upside down. The school has forced the student to apologize and is covering the oversight up. Because the principal clearly has no sense of humor.
