The Elder Scrolls series is becoming an MMORPG, ditching its roots of standalone games with strong single-player portions. The Elder Scrolls Online is the rather fitting name of the new game.
The Elder Scrolls Online was announced last week, with promises of a slow reveal. New screenshots and details will be drip-fed to gamers, this teaser trailer narrated by Michael Gambon being the first of many more to come.
Skyrim has been massively popular, and all of that success will feed into The Elder Scrolls Online. In this regard Bethesda appear to have got the timing of this game absolutely spot-on.
The Elder Scrolls Online will be released sometime in 2013, though that’s as precise as Bethesda is being right now. The first question is what it will new to the party, the second is whether it will manage to break the World of Warcraft stranglehold.
